POLL: Best Tournament Series Format for April 2019?

Last week we announced the first two events of the 2019 NEOHgolf.com Tournament Series, including the kickoff event on April 13th at Turkeyfoot.

In that announcement, we stated that the format at Turkeyfoot would be our standard “Individual Stroke Play with Big Skins Game” at $40 for the pot and $20 to skins, of course using our variable tees by age/gender rules.

But then we started asking ourselves if that decision made sense.

“Might this Individual Stroke Play format be a lot to ask of players right out of the long winter layoff?”

“Maybe we should go to a straight $50 Big Skins Game exclusively to keep the stress level low?”

“Or should we do a $20 Modified Stableford with positive points only (1pt par, 3pts birdie, 5pts eagle) with a $40 Big Skins Game so that players attack The Foot and not worry about their stray shots so early in the season?”

Finally, we stopped asking ourselves rhetorical questions and figured the best way to make such a decision was to turn to the wisdom of the crowd and poll the intelligent, insightful readers of Northeast Ohio Golf.

So, to determine the best format for the first event of the 2019 Tournament Series season in mid-April, we have two questions for you:

This poll has ended (since 5 years).

Which tournament format do you think would attract the biggest field to Turkeyfoot in April 2019?

$20 Modified Stableford with $40 Big Skins Game
41.56%
$50 Big Skins Game
29.87%
Standard $40 Individual Stroke Play and $20 Skins Game
28.57%

…and

This poll has ended (since 5 years).

Which tournament format do you personally prefer to play at Turkeyfoot in April 2019?

$20 Modified Stableford with $40 Big Skins Game
50.85%
Standard $40 Individual Stroke Play and $20 Skins Game
33.90%
$50 Big Skins Game
15.25%

Now remember, which ever format we decide to use, the variable tees by age/gender rules will still be in play.

So vote now!

This poll is open until midnight on Sunday, February 10th. After that, we’ll review the data and make a decision based on the collected results.

Then we will update you on the format of play to be used for the opening April 13th Series Tournament at Turkeyfoot!
