‘Kitten and the Kids’ Take 2011 ADGA 3-Man Shamble

Akron District Golf AssociationThe team of David Trier, Anthony Yacovazzi and Ross Beal — the self-titled ‘Kitten and the Kids’ — put a few bogeys onto their team scorecard but also ripped off a huge string of birdies and a mile’s worth of Yacovazzi putts to capture the 2011 Akron District Golf Association’s 3-Man Shamble at Chippewa Golf Course in Doylestown Saturday.

Northern Ohio PGA Offers Exemptions into 2012 Ohio Opens for 2011 ADGA Golfers of the Year

The Northern Ohio Section of the PGA of America confirmed to the Akron District Golf Association on Friday that the ADGA’s 2011 Golfer of the Year winners in both the main and senior divisions will be awarded a fully-paid exemption into the 2012 MinuteMenJobs.com Ohio Open events for their respective divisions.

RESULTS: 2011 ADGA Turkeyfoot 2-M Better Ball

Akron District Golf AssociationJason Chadima holed a 6-iron from 175 yards for eagle on a par-5 while Mark Thomas made a bundle of birdies.

Jim Cea and Ron Bell showed that age means little and that getting it in the hole means everything, winning the Senior Division with the same final score as the main division.

Those were the two story lines from the Akron District Golf Association’s first event of the 2011 season, the Parke Thornton 2-Man Better Ball at Turkeyfoot Lake Golf Links on Saturday.
