A playoff victory at the Shawnee Hills Course Championship by Jack Garswood keeps him in first place as of August 1 in the 2021 Cleveland Metroparks Golf Player of the Year points race with 85 points.
A win by Adam Frey at Manakiki jumped him up five spots, and he is now in a tie for second place with 76 points.
The biggest Course Championships mover was Colin Burns, who parlayed two top-ten finishes at Shawnee Hills and Manakiki to move him up from tied for 21st to tied for second with Burns.
On the Senior Division side, Allen Freeman has taken control with 62 points, as his top-ten finish at Sleepy Hollow moved him 22 points ahead of Monty Guest.
But the biggest points of the season await the top ten finishers at the Greater Cleveland Amateur Championship at Manakiki on August 14th and 15th, so the race is far from over…
