There was no shake up in the top two spots of the main division after the 2016 Course Championships.
Brian Polick maintained his first place lead with a runner-up finish at the Manakiki. Polick now has 116 points and leads Steve Blackburn Jr. by only 5 points.
Blackburn won at Manakiki, but only gained 1 point over the last few weeks as Polick had a T10 at Big Met to earn 3 points there.
The big mover was Jack Garswood, who two weeks ago had yet to earn a point. But with a win at the Shawnee Hills and a second at Big Met, he now sits tied for third with 86 points.
Nick Anagnost moved up from fourth to a tie for third with a third place finish at Sleepy Hollow.
David Sotka, who has won the first four Player of the Year Points Series, is in fifth place with 84 points.
In the Senior Division, Allen Freeman now has a 27 point lead over Mike Beres. A win at the Senior GCAC and a ninth at the Sleepy Hollow Course Championship has earned Freeman 98 points.
Beres jumped up from being tied for 12th with a runner-up finish at the Senior GCAC and a tie for fifth at the Big Met Course Championship.
Andrew Jendre 62 points, Mark Borlin 61 points and Mark Foss 52 points round out the top five.
The Greater Cleveland Amateur Championship at Sleepy Hollow on August 12 – 14 is the most heavily weighted points event of the year. With 50 points awarded to the winner, no lead in either division is secure and anyone down the points list can make big jump with a high finish…
