Eight competitors, four of which were in the top 11 of the Cleveland Metroparks Player of the Year standings, teed it up at Manakiki Golf Course Saturday in the 2014 CMP Tour Championship.
The day started with 3rd place David Sotka, 4th place Jack Garswood, and 6th place Dave LaGrotteria separated only by 22 pts of each other, and all three within reach of taking over the top spot as Player of the Year.
David Sotka has captured the 2012 and 2013 Player of the Year honors and was looking for the three-peat.
With the final scores posted, David Sotka won today’s event with an even par 72, and that earned him Player of the Year title as well.
Jack Garswood’s 75 was good enough for 2nd place finish today, and he finished in second place in the Player of the Year honors.
$1,700 in Cleveland Metroparks Golf gift cards will be distributed to the top 10 players on the POY points list, including $450 for the champion.
