Even though the stated entry deadline was to be this Friday, next week’s 2011 Senior Greater Cleveland Amateur Championship at Big Met Golf Course in Fairview Park has filled its field and is no longer accepting entries.
The 36-hole individual stroke play championship for guys 50 years of age and up will be held next week Thursday and Friday, July 14 – 15th. Norton Brick of Elyria is defending champion.
84 players committed to the event by the morning of July 5th, the stated ‘full field’ number.
A popular event in recent years, the early close of entries for the Cleveland Senior Am due to a full field is a pleasant surprise; it shows that tournament golf is alive and well in Northeast Ohio for affordable, well-run events.
Senior players who wish to be placed on the waiting list (sorry, no guarantee of entry) can contact host pro Mike Raby at Big Met.
