On July 1st, the Northern Ohio Golf Association held day one of the WOSGA 5th Women’s Cosmopolitan Four-Ball at Alliance Country Club in Alliance, Ohio. Natalie Weinsz (North Canton) & Carol Bonavida (North Canton) emerged as the leaders after day one with a net score of 61 (-11). In the Overall Gross Results, Fiona Connor (University Heights) & Missy Gideon (Hudson) had a great day after tallying a 74 (+2).
Gideon and Connor’s round started with a challenge as the pair found themselves +2 after three holes. However, they were able to turn the tide over their next six holes, reducing the number of bogies and adding a birdie to the scorecard. The back is where the duo found their stride, dropping two shots after three holes and finishing their round with 6 pars to end at a 74 (+2).
Weinsz and Bonavida had a great round of golf today, and they found themselves atop the overall net scores. The pair played one hole above par during their round today, shooting ten birdies, one eagle, and one bogey. Weinsz’s eagle early in the round on the par-5 5th hole set the tone for the next 13 holes.
