Canton’s Vaughn Snyder + David Oates ripped out a 6-under par scramble six holes, then shot one-under par in both better ball and alternate shot to cruise to victory in the 2024 Joe Ungvary Sr. Memorial Jumble at Good Park Golf Course in Akron on Saturday.
Oates + Snyder birdied all six of the first six holes, made birdie on the par-4 11th hole in better ball, and traded birdies at 14 and 18 with a bogey at the 15th to finish at 8-under par total. The birdies at six and 18 were good for skins worth $355 each, giving the winners a total haul of $1,610 on the day.
Columbus area players Daniel Martina + Vincent Altiero finished in solo second place, two shots behind. The posted 2-under-par totals in each of the three segments.
Four teams tied for third place at a 3-under-par total. Six skins were won on the day.
Next up on the schedule is the ADGA 3-Man Shamble at Chippewa Golf Club in Doylestown on Saturday, June 15th.
