Bobby Spino + Mike Simpson won the Akron District Golf Association’s 27-Hole 2-Player Scramble at Sable Creek Golf Club in Hartville on Sunday, shooting a 17-under par total to win by one shot.
Jon Lieser + Scott McVey and Kyle Jones + Ryan Stocke finished in a tie for second place at 16-under par.
Jones + Stocke held the lead by one shot going into the final nine holes, after posting a sterling 8-under second nine segment. But Spino + Simpson closed with 5-under par 30 on the last nine for victory. Lieser + McVey did one better to close, finishing with 29.
Jimmy Wild made a hole-in-one on the fourth hole to sweep the first nine skins pot with partner Steve Blackburn Jr. Jim Cea + Dave Trier swept the second nine skins pot with an eagle-3 on the sixth.
The 27-hole scramble marks the end of the 2024 ADGA season. Tournament directors Kyle Jones and Jimmy Wild wish to thank all of the players for participating this year, and look forward to the 2025 season!
