Even with a bogey on the tough eighth hole at Manakiki, Steve Blackburn Jr. and Jimmy Wild posted an 11-under par score of 61 to win the Cleveland Metroparks Golf 2-Player Scramble by one shot.
Early in the day, the team of Adam Frey + Tony Briggs posted a bogey-free 10-under par 62 to set the pace.
Playing near the end of the field, Blackburn + Wild knew the score they needed to beat and converted birdies on six of their final seven holes — including a birdie at the last — to again claim the title. They also won this event in 2020.
Defending champions David Sotka + Nick Anagnost were among a trio of teams that tied for third place at 63.
Walt Robertson scored a hole-in-one on the 140-yard par-3 fifth hole.
The next event on the 2024 Cleveland Metroparks Golf schedule is the CMG Two Player Better Ball at Sleepy Hollow Golf Course in Brecksville on Sunday, June 2nd.
