On a day when overnight rains set up the course to play long, a pair of senior players — Allen Freeman and Ty Kovach — found a way to post a two shot victory in the Cleveland Metroparks Golf Amateur/Senior Better Ball at Sleepy Hollow.
Having two seniors in the group forced Ty Kovach to hit from the back tees. After shooting 1-over par on the front nine, Freeman birdied #10 and Kovach birdied #15 with the rest pars on the back nine to post a 1-under par 70 total.
Thanks to the Sleepy Hollow grounds crew for getting the course in great shape for the event.
Cleveland Metroparks Golf events will return in July with the Senior Greater Cleveland Amateur Championship at Big Met July 6-7, followed by the Course Championships/GCAC Qualifiers at Manakiki, Shawnee Hills, Sleepy Hollow and Seneca.
