Twenty-nine teams competed in this year’s Spring 2-Player Scramble event at Manakiki. Despite the cold, wet, tough conditions, numerous good scores were posted.
Winning this year’s event was Joe Blackburn and Walt Robertson with an 8-under par 64. They got off to a hot start, as they shot a 32 on the front 9 and were 4-under par on their first four holes on the back.
Finishing in a three-way tie for second place with a score of 7-under par were the teams of Keith McWilliams and Andrew Tipton, Colin Burns and Rich Deichert, and Darren Phipps with Scott Shenker.
Despite the weather leading up to the event, many of the players commented on how nice the greens rolled. Thank you all who participated in this year’s event and hope to see you throughout the year at other Cleveland Metroparks tournaments!
