It was a day of super-low scoring at Turkeyfoot Lake Golf Links for the 2018 Akron District Golf Association’s Parke H. Thornton 2-Man Better Ball on Saturday.
Don Padgett III and Brett Kaufman walked away with the Championship Division, winning by a whopping three shots over four teams. The pair posted a solid 6-under par 65 on a beautiful day and perfectly conditioned golf course.
In the Senior Division, Brian Huntley and Tom Laubacher made putts all over the golf course to shoot a sizzling 7-under par 64. That low number was just good enough to eke out a one-shot victory over the talented team of Jim Durr and Mark Guadagni, who shot 65.
The shot of the day is an easy call: Bill Downing jarred his tee shot for a HOLE-IN-ONE on the par-3 17th hole. Congrats Bill!
