USGAOne player went very low, and six others shot even par to qualify for the U.S. Open Sectionals.

Tom Swanson, a former University of Michigan golfer, recorded a 66 at Weymouth Golf Club in Medina to secure the Cleveland U.S. Open local qualifying medalist honors.

The top seven players advanced to sectionals, and it just so happened that six players tied for second place at even par 71 — many familiar local names. Blake Sattler, Richard Schembechler II, Andrew Bailey and Brian Unk joined Canadian player Brian Churchill-Smith and another U of M player, Kyle Mueller, as players who advance.

Final results from the 2016 U.S. Open Local Qualifying Tournament from Weymouth Country Club in Medina on Tuesday, May 10th. Qualifying players advance to Sectionals in an effort to reach the U.S. Open Golf Championship at Oakmont Country Club June 13-16:
