The first of three rounds is in the books at the 2013 Greater Cleveland Amateur Golf Championship. And even though this edition of the tournament is being played at Sleepy Hollow Golf Course in Brecksville, the results after day one seem a lot like a repeat of the 2012 event at Manakiki.
Defending champion Nick Palladino of Highland Heights grabbed the first round lead with a solid 2-under par 69 to lead by a single shot over Dave Sotka of Chardon.
Chad Scott from Mansfield shot an even par round of 71 to sit in third place, while the rest of the field finished over par on a tough day for scoring.
The low 38 players and ties will survive the cut after the completion of Saturday’s second round (starting times here). After round one, a score of 79 holds down the 38th place…
