In what could be considered a ‘home game,’ Steve Weir of Berea won the 2011 Lake Erie Golf Tour event at Pine Hills Golf Club in Hinckley today. In wet conditions, Weir fired an impressive 5-under par 67 to win by one shot over former Kent State standout Nick Latimer.
Recent William & Mary graduate Zach Glassman won the open amateur division with a solid 1-under par 71, beating Brian Smith by a single stroke.
The next event on the LEGT schedule will be played at Glen Eagles Golf Club in Twinsburg on Thursday, June 2 beginning at 9 a.m. Players can register for the Glen Eagles event on the tour website.
