RD2 RESULTS: 2024 Cleveland Amateur Championship

Westlake’s Brett Kaufman posted a 2-under par 69 in tough, windy conditions at Sleepy Hollow Golf Course in Brecksville, and holds a two-shot advantage over first-round leader Phil Bojc of Powell with one round to play in the 2024 Greater Cleveland Amateur Championship.

Kaufman, the recently-crowned club champion at Firestone Country Club, made an eagle-2 on the par-4 15th hole to go along with three birdies and three bogeys on the day. His first-round 1-over par 72 has him at a total of 1-under par for the tournament after 36 holes.

Bojc made just one birdie on his day, at the opening par-5. His Saturday 75 kept him in touch after his sterling first-round 68 and leaves him at 1-over par for the championship.

Tied for third place, the current Stark County Am champion, Kyle Buzaki of Stow, and Lakewood’s Lucas Liberatore are another two shots back at 145.

Given today’s average score at Sleepy Hollow was a whopping 78.6, a total score of 159 or better was all that was needed to make the cut, which 42 players did. Sunday’s Round 3 will begin at 7:30 a.m. in groups of three, with the leaders teeing off at 9:40 a.m. The Sunday starting times are posted below today’s scores. RD3 LIVE SCORING >
