Greetings to all of you Akron area golfers! I hope you are all getting ready for the upcoming 2016 season, as we have put together a schedule that will test the skills of all the ADGA golfers.
With the passing of our dear friend, David Chapple, in July of last year, the organization had to look elsewhere for a tournament assistant. David stated on numerous occasions the he would teach my daughter to help me out when he wasn’t there to lend his expertise on the art of running a tournament. So welcome Kristin Davis as our new ADGA Tournament Assistant!
This coming Saturday, April 23rd will be our Opening Day at Firestone Public 9, with an 18-hole skins game followed by a Shootout for the top five players from each division who card the most eagles and birdies during the skins game. Hacker’s Bar and Grill and the ADGA are co-sponsors for the event, with participation awards for all players plus a Firestone Public 9 monthly pass for each divisional leader who makes the most eagles and birdies!
Tire Source and Titleist/Foot Joy will continue their sponsorship for the 2016 Golfer of the Year Invitational Tournament at Shady Hollow Country Club in Massillon again this September.
The ADGA also will be returning in 2016 to Brookledge Golf Course in July for the Bud Light 3 Man Shamble.
We also changed a couple of the other tournament sites this year, to play at different courses for the likes of the 4-Man Scramble and the 36 Hole Stroke Play event. See the full 2016 schedule on the ADGA page on Northeast Ohio Golf.
Lastly, the AGDA is looking for community support to help keep our historic golf organization running at the highest level.
