Mother Nature won Week 2 of the Greater Cleveland Skins Game.
Only seven players competed in the rain on Thursday at Powderhorn, and there was little to show for it as all skins were tied out: birdies on the par-4 second hole, the par-5 fourth hole, and the par-4 seventh hole.
Pin shot winners were Mark Foss from Mayfield Heights, hitting an 8 iron to the 155 yard fifth hole to 10 feet, and Eddie Neer of Lyndhurst hitting the tough 200 yard 8th hole. Pin shot winners took home $24.50 each.
Hats off to the Powderhorn staff for not only giving players a great green fee rate of $13 riding and $6 walking, but also great conditions: the crew gave us fresh cut greens and new cups for Thursday’s event and the course was in great shape.
Allen Freeman of Brecksville holds onto the season-long lead after Week 2 in pursuit of the Thompson Cup.
The Greater Cleveland Skins Game travels to the always tough Thunder Hill Golf Club in Madison next Thursday, May 7th with a special green fee rate of $15 that includes the cart.
