Friday Play at 2012 Cleveland Am Flooded Out

Cleveland Amateur Golf ChampionshipsThe first round of the Greater Cleveland Amateur Golf Championship at Manakiki Golf Course began, but it could not be finished.

Play was originally delayed an hour-and-a-half due to heavy rain at 11:30 a.m. Play began around 1 p.m., but then another downpour made the course unplayable and it was decided that the first round could not be completed and was canceled.

Play will begin anew on Saturday morning at 8:00 a.m. at the originally-scheduled Saturday tee times.

The tournament will now be a played as a two-day 36-hole tournament, with 18 holes played on Saturday and 18 holes on Sunday.
