It was an exciting finish to the 2023 Seneca Course Championship, as the tournament came down to one stroke.
The two-day tournament played on the Baldwin / Chippewa was contested on a beautiful weekend, which propelled nine golfers to the Greater Cleveland Amateur Championship who were not previously exempt coming into the weekend.
First round co-leader Ben Farina followed up a 1-under 71 on Saturday with a steady 76 to capture his first Cleveland Metroparks championship. On a Sunday where the course played almost two strokes higher than Saturday, the field was not able chase down Farina. Ben was one of only two golfers to go under par on the challenging Baldwin course through the weekend, which proved to be the difference.
A score of 155 was required to advance from Seneca to the Greater Cleveland Amateur Championship at Manakiki on August 11-13.
