The weather finally cooperated on Sunday for the final round of the 2023 Greater Cleveland Amateur Championship at Manakiki Golf Course. The course handled the water very well and the greens maintained their perfect condition the whole weekend despite over 2 inches of rain.
Defending champion Antonio Bodziony won the Cleveland Am for the second straight year, shooting an even par 72 on Sunday for a three-day total of 3-under par 213 (70, 71, 72). Bodziony won the tournament last year at Sleepy Hollow Golf Course in Brecksville.
It looked like Bodziony was cruising to an easy victory through the first eight holes of the final round, but a wayward driver on the par-4 ninth led to a triple-bogey. Bodziony was quick to shake it off, making three straight birdies early on the back side to cover the error.
Runner up Mark Belasic shot a final round 71 to finish two shots back at 1-under par 215 (77, 67, 71).
Jack Garswood finished in third place with a 73 on Sunday and three day total of even par 216, which included a 67 on Saturday. Bryan Yeo and Dan Metzendorf finished tied for fourth place with 217 totals.
