Despite excessive heat on Monday and severe thunderstorms on Tuesday, a full field competed in this year’s Senior Greater Cleveland Amateur Championship at Big Met Golf Course on June 28-29th.
Solon’s Monty Guest won the overall championship after a one hole playoff victory over John Iosue. Both players posted 4-under par 140 over the 36 holes, and also finished first and second respectively in the age 60-69 Division.
Rob Schustrich claimed the top prize in the 50-59 Division, finishing at 142 and T3 overall, tied with Larry Lahnan.
The 70+ Division was equally competitive, with Steve Steinhilber winning a playoff over Mike Brady after both players posted 154.
