Larry Lahnan of Aurora posted an impressive 66 in the first round of the 2018 Senior Masters Cleveland Amateur Championship, then ran away to an 8-shot win with a 66-71=137.
Akron’s Jimmy Cea finished second with rounds of 70-75=145, followed closely by Steve Blackburn Sr. and Ron Skirpstas who tied for third place at 146.
In the Super Senior Masters Division for players age 70 and over, Mike Lingo took an early lead after day one then held on to win the division with scores of 78-82=160. Dave Kriak and Geoff Nicely tied for second place.
With sunny skies, dry conditions and a fast pace of play, the tournament was an enjoyable two days. Thank you to all who participated!
