Jack Garswood and Steve Blackburn Jr. (above) shot a strong 5-under par 66 to repeat as champions of the Bill Barbour Cup on Saturday at Sleepy Hollow Golf Course in Brecksville.
The pair pushed their score has low as 7-under par through 14 holes, but gave back two shots with bogeys on 17 and 18 in the alternate shot format.
But even with the bogeys at the end, their 66 was still good enough to win by three shots over David Sotka and Nick Anagnost who finished with 69.
The six-holes-each format of Better Ball, Scramble, and Modified Alternate Shot proved a challenge for most of the field, given the windy conditions that were prevalent throughout the afternoon.
The last two events in the 2016 Cleveland Metroparks Player of the Year Series will be the Two-Player Scramble at Big Met on September 24th, and the Tour Championship at Manakiki on October 8th.
