Tim Morrow and Jake Fait started slowly then made a huge back-nine charge to capture the 2015 Akron District Golf Association’s Lazor 2-Man Better Ball event on Saturday.
Playing at the challenging and well-conditioned Rawiga Country Club course in Seville, Morrow and Fait turned in even par 36 after off-setting a pair of bogeys with two par-five birdies.
But then they went on a tear on the back nine, making five birdies there for 31 — including birdies on the final three holes. They won by two shots over three teams.
In the Senior Division, two teams tied at the top. Mark Borlin and Mark Foss posted a back-nine 32 to pull level with Jim Cea and Ronnie Bell, as both teams finished with a score of 67.
