The wind whipped. The clouds and rain appeared. Then the wind whipped some more.
With a challenging setup and even more challenging weather conditions, the first event of the Akron District Golf Association’s 2014 season was a test of patience.
The team of Mark Guadagni and partner Jim Durr finished in a tie for first place with 2013 ADGA GOY Champ Howard Clendenin and partner John Topeka. Those two teams overcame the challenge the best, finishing at just 3-under par 68 in the Championship Division.
On the senior side, a three way tie at 2-under par 70 got the job done. That score was posted by the teams of Sam Spino Jr. and Nick Lambos, Tom Skidmore and Bill Downing, and Joe Hedrick and Jim Tarter.
The next event on the 2014 ADGA schedule is the ADGA Golf Galaxy 4-M Scramble at Barberton Brookside Golf Course on Saturday, May 24th.
