Greater Cleveland Skins GameThe Greater Cleveland Skins Game launched its 25th season opener at Fowlers Mill Golf Course in Chesterland on Thursday.

Larry Kerns stole the show by pitching a no-hit shut out against the field!

“We never had a chance,” stated Skins Game Director John Niedzialek, who played with Kerns. “He birdied the 3 toughest holes on the back nine being the 180 yard par three 13th hole, the long par four 15th hole, and then another birdie on the difficult par three 17th hole and then he grabbed both pin shots.”

His birdies were tied off on the par threes, but his birdie on the 15th hole held up for the only skin of the night.

Kerns took home $299 for his skin on the 15th hole and $45.50 for each pin shot on the par three’s.

His $390 clean sweep puts him on top of the Greater Cleveland Skins Game Leaderboard for the first time.

Defending Champion Steve Blackburn Jr. hit the first tee shot at 4:30 pm through the wind and rain. The rain stopped for the rest of the night, then Larry Kerns took over.

Next week, the Greater Cleveland Skins Game travels to Little Mountain Country Club with a 4:45 start and a $20 green fee rate.
