In record fashion, Steve Blackburn Jr. of Willowick captured the Greater Cleveland Shoot-Out Tournament at Chardon Lakes on Labor Day.
Blackburn Jr. shot a sizzling 69, which is just two shots off the course record set by Jack Nicklaus in 1971.
He was 1-over par on the front nine but made four birdies on the back, shooting nines of 36-33.
Blackburn Jr. took home $750 for his efforts.
Chardon hometown favorite Dave Sotka came in 2nd place with a 73 that earned him $400.
Tied for third at 74 were Pat Tyrrell of Willoughby and Rob Schustrich of Windham, good for $195 each.
Brian Perkins and Steve Blackburn Sr. each shot 76, good for 5th place and $35 each.
Congratulations to Steve!
