Four skins were won at Fowlers Mill Golf Course in Chesterland this Thursday.
Sam Corabi, the 60 year old phenom fresh off his Club Championship victory at Painesville C.C., showed the youngsters once again how to do it by winning two of the four skins. Corabi birdied the 330-yard par-four 11th hole for a skin, and then followed up on the tough 430-yard par-four 15th hole for another. Skins were worth $80.50 and the big win moves Corabi into third position on the Leaderboard.
Brian Pentek then double dipped by grabbing the pin shot on the uphill 180 yard par three 13th hole and also making the birdie from 12 feet for a skin there. Pentek’s pin shot paid $42.00.
The last skin of the night went to Dave Sotka with a 30-foot birdie putt on the 345 yard par four 12th hole. Sotka also took home the Mulligan’s pin shot on the 180 yard par three 17th hole for $56.00
Sotka’s skin and pin puts him into the four-figure mark on the season and bring him to within striking distance of Steve Blackburn Jr., who is still out in front in the chase for the Thompson Cup.
The Greater Cleveland Shoot-out will be held this Monday at Chardon Lakes; players are reminded that entries are due Friday at 5p.
