It was the first trip for the Greater Cleveland Skins Game to The Fairways at Twin Lakes, and amateur Chris Plute, the Director of Golf for the facility, wasted no time by grabbing a birdie skin on the first hole.
Plute nearly drove the 400-yard par-four 1st and had the only birdie there.
Seventeen players made the trip to Twin Lakes, and the shorter, old-style course and great greens gave the players a true challenge: four holes were left open without birdies!
A total of three skins were out on the night worth $130.33 each.
Steve Blackburn Jr. added to his lead with a birdie on the short but tricky par four 5th hole by nailing a severe downhill putt from above the hole on the fringe.
The third skin of the night went to Louis Silwiak who rolled in a 40-foot bomb on the 160-yard par three 8th hole. Steve Blackburn Sr. hit it close there and took home the Mulligans pin shot worth $68 but missed the put giving the skin to Silwiak.
The other pin shot on the 165 yard 2nd hole went to Ron Miller for $51.00.

Please note that next week’s Greater Cleveland Skins Game will be a special event due to the July 4th holiday. It will be held at Fowlers Mill Golf Club in Chesterland. The 9-hole skins game will take place at 9:15 a.m., with five tee times set aside. Many players will play a full 18 holes on July 4th, but the official 9 hole skins game will be on the first nine. Unfortunately due to the holiday, the special rates available to the Greater Cleveland Skins Game players will not be in effect this week.
In other news, players are reminded that the top five players on the 2013 Leaderboard after Week 14 will gain exemption into the 2013 Cleveland Amateur Championship, to be held at Sleepy Hollow this August.
