While it was a beautifully warm and calm evening at Manikiki Golf Course in Willoughby Hills, not a ton of birdies were made in Week 22 of the Greater Cleveland Skins Game.
But Mike Angie left the big winner nonetheless, after an early flourish.
Angie came out of the box firing with a birdie on the par-four 1st hole, good for the first skin of the night. His skin was worth $195.50.
Angie followed up that skin-winner with a pin shot on the 148-yard par-three 5th hole, good for another $59.50.
Steve Blackburn Sr. grabbed the other skin on the night with a birdie from 12-feet on the par-four 4th hole, also worth $195.50.
Blackburn Sr. is riding a great year and is making a move to catch his son at the top of the Leaderboard. Senior has moved now into 2nd place, becoming the fourth player on the season to crack the four-figure mark in winnings.
Mark Borlin took home the pin shot on the 165-yard par-three 7th hole worth $59.50.
Oddly, many holes were open without any birdies made on them, including both par threes, the par-five 6th hole, and the short 9th hole. But the difficult par four 8th hole was tied out with birdies!
Next week, the Greater Cleveland Skins Game travels to Erie Shores Golf Course in Madison, with play starting at 4:30 pm.
