The Greater Cleveland Skins Game made its inaugural visit to Painesville Country Club this past Thursday, with a solid showing of twenty one players participating on the evening.
Tim Cebula continued his hot hand and is inching his way up the 2012 Leaderboard.
Cebula made a birdie-2 on the difficult 200-yard par-three 15th hole for a skin, one of only two made on the night.
The only other skin won on the evening was by Steve Blackburn Sr. with a birdie on the easily-reachable 470-yard par-five 17th hole.
Skins paid a tidy $241.50 each.
Nearly all of the remaining holes were tied with birdies, but the par-five held up to allow Blackburn Sr. to continue his fine season. Senior is now within striking distance of catching his son, Steve Blackburn Jr., who still sits at the top of the 2012 Leaderboard.
Pin shot winners were Painesville CC regulars Gene Lefelhoc on the 230-yard par-three 11th hole, and Gary Gibson on the 200-yard par-three 15th hole. Bob Karshner grabbed the third pin shot on the 100-yard par-three 14th hole. Pin shots paid $49.00 each.
Next week, the Greater Cleveland Skins Game moves to Manikiki Golf Course in Willoughby Hills, with play starting at 4:30 pm.
