Tim Ailes of Lewis Center, OH won the Lake Erie Golf Tour tournament at the Signature of Solon on Thursday.
In the wet conditions, Ailes steadily cruised to a 3-under par score of 69 to win by four shots in a field of seven professionals. The victory was his third of the season and added to his lead on the 2011 LEGT Money List.
Brian Smith of Amherst earned low amateur honors with a score of 5-over par 77 in a field of four. Complete results below.
The final event of the season will be the LEGT Tour Championship, played Thursday, September 22nd at The Elms Country Club in Massillon. Courtesy of some sponsorships, the LEGT will guarantee the minimum payouts for first place at the Tour Championship: $1,000 in the Pro Division and $500 in the Amateur Division. Event details here.
