Under blue skies and dry conditions for the first time this year, twenty five players were able to play under summer rules at Fowlers Mill on Thursday.
And the man at the top of the 2011 leaderboard for the first five weeks of the season reclaimed his spot in a big way.
Dan Predovic enjoyed the nice day with some rewarding golf, as he climbed back on top of the leaderboard by making two skins on the night. Predovic made a 15 foot birdie putt on the par four 2nd hole, and then canned another 15 foot putt for a birdie on the difficult 208-yard par three 3rd hole. Skins were worth $143.75 each on the evening, netting Predovic a tidy $287.50.
Joe Zabukovec then made a birdie on the par five 8th hole that held up for a skin, and Joey DiDonato made his way on the 2011 leaderboard with a birdie for a skin on the par four 9th hole.
Pin shot winners were Joe Ignat on the third hole and Erron Gomez on the 7th hole. Pin shots paid $87.50 each.
Next week, the stakes will be doubled for the Greater Cleveland Skins Game’s first “Double Down Thursday,” which will be held at Tanglewood Golf Club in Bainbridge starting at 5 p.m. Players are reminded that in order to participate in the “Double Down” event, they must have played in two or more Thursday events this season.
