Dave Sotka and friends got a warm-up on Thursday in preparation for the upcoming Cleveland Amateur at Manakiki, as the Greater Cleveland Skins Game went to challenging Chardon Lakes Golf Course. Sotka found paydirt again on his old home high school course, grabbing one of three skins on the evening.
Sotka birdied the difficult par-4 dog-leg 16th hole at Chardon Lakes for a skin worth $122.66. Mark Foss earned a skin with a birdie on #14, and Carl Quercioli made birdie on #15 for his second skin of the year.
Pin shot winners were Geoff Nicely on hole #11 and Vince Busa on hole #14, worth $56 each.
Sotka’s birdie skin vaults him over defending Skins Game champion Steve Blackburn Jr. into third place in the standings. Eddie Neer still leads the way.
Next Thursday, August 12th, The Greater Cleveland Skins Game moves to Powderhorn Golf Course in Madison beginning at 5 p.m., where players can enjoy a great $13.00 greens fee and cart rate.
