Based on the number of people leaving the IX Center this weekend with clubs, bags and other golf accessories in their hands, thousands of people won at the 2023 Cleveland Golf and Travel Show. But a handful of people actually won one of the weekend long competitions in the Long Drive, Golf Darts and Long Putt challenges.
In the Long Drive competition, Talia Trovato was the best of the women over the three days of the Show, winning the Ladies Division with a 244 yard blast. The ladies competed in a three day event, while the men had daily winners in Open and Senior Divisions.
On Friday, Jacob Zbin won the Long Drive’s Open Division with a 342 yard poke. Friday’s Senior Division was won by Ron Wynn with a solid 309 yard smash.
On Saturday, Pat Porfancik posted the best numbers of the week, winning the Open Division with an eye-popping 373 yard bomb. Todd Walker won the Senior segment with a Friday-matching 309 yard drive.
Then on Sunday, Andrew Preis knocked a 342 yard shot to take the Open title, while Keith Snyder hit a 289 yarder to capture the Senior side.
In the Golf Darts challenge, Ben Blair posted a score of 132 to win going away.
In the Long Putt challenge, dozens of people won money by making one of their three 75-foot putts on the green set up in the center of the Cleveland Golf Show. But only two people made two putts out of three to win a tidy cash prize.
