Wilkshire Golf Course to Close

Conservancy to Purchase Property, Turn it into a Park

Wilkshire Golf Course in Bolivar is under contract to be purchased by West Creek Conservancy at the end of 2021, with plans to turn its 182 acres and access to the Tuscarawas River into a park.

90 percent of the course is in the flood plain, and the golf course has flooded significantly in the past.

Wilkshire will operate as a golf course until the end of 2021. Once the property is sold, the goal is to construct trails, maintain the buildings and mow along the trails. Plans are to plant additional trees and to honor the heritage of the 50 year golf course as a park, opening in the fall or early winter of 2021-22.

  1. Good news the locals township voted it down, so we wont be paying for a park, I hope they can sell to a golf operator

  2. Disgusting how tax payer money is used to buyout business. We dont need more bs parks, but we pay for them, nice.
