Opened in Fall 2017 after a major renovation, the new Valley of the Eagles in Elyria has joined Northeast Ohio Golf as a Course Member for 2018.
Formerly known as Spring Valley Country Club, the new property owner chose Troon Golf as its management company early last year. Barry Friedman is the head PGA professional on-site.
The new Valley of the Eagles layout is a Jack Nicklaus design, fairly rare for a daily fee course. The property criss-crosses along massive sheer shale cliffs and the Black River, and features numerous old trees, rolling terrain and long-view elevation changes. Nicklaus’ design and construction work opened up the hole corridors while solving the drainage and turf issues of the old Spring Valley layout.
The renovations include a brand new clubhouse that features the Black River Tavern for after-golf food and beverages, tournaments, weddings, and special events.
