Unk 4-M Scramble Benefits Folds of Honor

Northeast Ohio Golf rarely lists a charity golf outing on its pages, as our focus is competitive tournament golf.

But the Dan Unk Memorial 4-Man Scramble has direct family ties to two of the region’s well-known players, so this event is different.

Dan Unk was the father of local playing professional Brian Unk. Frank Marr, who is running the event, is the father of Akron-area amateur player Danny Marr.

The Unk Memorial is a 4-man scramble and team skins game to be played on Monday September 30, 2013 with a Noon shotgun at the Ohio Prestwick Country Club. Entry fee is $400 per 4-man team, with a whopping 50% of that money donated to the Folds of Honor Foundation.

Brian Unk will hit a par-3 tee shot for every group in the field that can be used by that team, while Danny Marr will stand and rip drivers all day long on one of the par-5 holes. (Send it Danny!)

Beer and pop will be available on the course, and a steak dinner will be provided afterwards.

To enter, use the PDF entry blank here or contact Frank Marr at 330-255-9376 or email him.
