The softness of the greens from rain the last two days slowed down the normally speedy putting surfaces at The Fairways at Twin Lakes, but the 20-25 mph wind kept players in check in the June 2013 edition of the 2-Man Scramble series.
Three teams tied at the top at a solid 10-under par score, and two of those teams further padded their take as they walked away splitting the skins pot with a birdie on a pretty simple golf hole.
The teams of Brian Vincelette and Aaron Crewse (top), Quinn Parker and Tyler Light (above left), and Niko Anagnost and Dave Sotka (above right) all finished tied for first place at 10-under par 60.
The Vincelette/Crewse and Parker/Light teams also split the entire skins pot from 32 teams when no outright skin was won. They each earned the skin share with a birdie at the very first hole of the day, as it was the least tied hole. Shows how being ready to play out of the gate can pay off: those two teams netted just over $700 per man with the first place tie and the skin.
Players who are members of the Akron District Golf Association earned points for their finish in the Golfer of the Year race, and that points list will be updated and posted soon.
