2014 Q-SCHOOL FINALS: ROUND 2 RECAP
Ryan Armour continued his consistent play by carding a three under par 69 on the difficult Stadium course to bring him -7 for the tournament. He is tied for 14th place at the moment and is right in the thick of things.
(I actually took the picture of him on the left after his round, and he does not appear to be as angry as the one which was previously posted on the right. LOL)
Meanwhile on the Nicklaus tournament course, Jake Scott had a uncharacteristic and somewhat volatile round. He was on two under par for the day (euro reference) through 8 holes. A well struck 5 iron failed to cover a pond, leading to a double-bogey 6 to get back on level par. After that, he bounced back with birdies at 10 and 11 to get back on two under.
Unfortunately that brilliant play was followed by an errant 5-iron shot into a pond on the par-3 12th, which lead to a costly double-bogey 5. He closed out the round with six consecutive pars for an even level par 72.
We definitely have some work to accomplish today, as we are back at the Nicklaus tournament course again today at 10:10 am. It is ripe for the taking. Jake’s 2 day total of -1 puts him in a tie for 77th place. Jake is paired with former Ole Miss All-American Jonathan Randolph (#hottytoddy Go Rebs!)
It appears that Justin Lower struggled to get anything going on the difficult Stadium Course. He made 3 bogeys and doubled the treacherous island green 17 for a round of 77 (+5). Justin is back at the Nicklaus Tournament Course today and will bounce back. He is a great kid with tons of game. Look for him to go low. He currently sits on 2 over par in joint 118th place.
