The six-player team from the Northern Ohio Golf Association captured the 2019 Ohio Intrastate Tournament today at Shawnee Country Club in Lima against teams from the other Ohio regional golf associations.
Captained by NOGA Executive Director Robb Schulze with Assistant Captain help support Lindsay Butler, Team NOGA brought home the title by a whopping 13 shots over Team Miami Valley.
The teams were comprised of two mid-am players, two senior players and two women players from each association. Five stroke play scores of six counted toward the team total. The 2019 event was the first ever to include women players. The Toledo District Golf Association conducted this year’s edition of the event.
Jim Durr from Silver Lake led the scoring for NOGA with a 2-under par 70, which was the low round of the day for all players.
All six NOGA players shot in the 70s — a solid performance.
“It was a great day,” said the victorious Captain Schulze.
