Stabilized Hips, Solid Base

A solid swing needs a stable foundation. And this month’s fitness tip will help create that solid base.

The key to a solid foundation are the hip stabilizers, specifically the glute medius (lower body lateral stabilization). These muscles need to be strong and active.

As we rotate and transfer our weight, balance is critical. Strong hips ensure we can post up and avoid “swaying” or “sliding” side-to-side.

Getting these muscles activated can take less than 30 seconds. Watch this video for an easy way to fire up your stabilizers for a balanced, powerful swing:
