September 2020 Rounds Up 20%+ — Again

A 20%+ increase in rounds played in Greater Cleveland has become commonplace.

The September 2020 Rounds Played Report has been released by Golf Datatech, and it shows that Greater Cleveland area golf courses have enjoyed 22.1% increase over the round numbers from Sep 2019.

This is the third consecutive month that rounds in Greater Cleveland have been up 20% or more vs. 2019 — and would likely be five straight months except Golf Datatech did not break down play numbers for in-state geographic areas in May or June due to COVID.

The incredible early-Fall weather helped boost the September totals.

For the state of Ohio, rounds were up 25.8% in September 2020 vs. 2019, and the year-to-date are up 9.3% in total — another number that would be even higher if not affected by early spring shutdowns.

Golf Datatech is not maintaining Year-to-Date totals by city or region due to COVID shutdowns affecting those aggregate numbers.

For the USA in total, September rounds played were up 25.5%, and YTD are up 8.7%. Thus the completely red map above…
