Sawmill Creek to Skip Spring 2012 4-M Scramble

Sawmill Creek Golf ResortSawmill Creek Golf Course in Huron will not conduct the Spring 2012 edition of their twice-yearly 4-Man Big Cash Scramble this April, due to a recent change in management for the golf course operation.

Ryan Spicer has taken over the Director of Golf duties for Chris Bleile, who has taken a job outside of the golf business.

Spicer has been the head professional at Sawmill Creek Golf Club for the last six seasons and has been a PGA member for over 20 years.

Bliele served as Director of Golf at Sawmill Creek for 14 years. He was the driving force behind the creation and promotion of their successful 4-Man Scramble events in the spring and fall, including the setup of the well-received ‘Fast Play Format’ concept (spotters on every hole, all teams off the first tee, finishing in 4 hours or less).

But Spicer says the scramble events will be back.

“My plan right now is to do just a fall scramble based on the workload I have here at Sawmill, and once my feet are wet I will run the Spring event again in 2013,” said Spicer.
