The first round of the 2016 Yuengling Tuscarawas County Championship was played Saturday morning at Zoar Golf Club. The 36-hole medal play tournament features three divisions, determined after the first round scores are posted.
Caine Bricker shot a 69 to take the lead at the halfway point. John Perkowski shot a two under par 70 and Matt Gasser will round out the leader group Sunday after his fine even par 72. Phil Rangel is 5 strokes off the pace with a 74.
Tim Hepner, Wes Gilland, and defending champion Eric Crone all shot 73’s.
Five players shot 80 to share the lead in the Second Flight: Mitch Levengood, Mitchel Burcher, Nick Winters, Randy Gonter, and Brandt Harbert.
Vince Amicone, John McFadden, Jay Dalpaiz and Art Wright all shot 85 to lead the Third Flight after Saturday’s play.
