Green native and Ohio State Buckeye sophomore Maxwell Moldovan ran away with the individual crown at the Southern Invitational, firing a final round 67 to finish at 15-under par to win by six shots. The 15-under par is the lowest 54-hole score in relation to par by a Buckeye since 1980.
The Buckeye’s Men’s Golf Team won as well, dominating the final round with a 13-under 275 to win the tournament by 18 shots at The Falls Club in Lake Worth, FL.
Moldovan made 18 birdies and just three bogeys over the two days.
This was the second title of Moldovan’s career, as he also won the NEXUS Collegiate last month in the Bahamas.
