RIP Randy Iceman

NOPGA Hall of Fame Member and NOPGA Section Chief Rules Official Randy Iceman passed away this afternoon.

While the passing of someone so visible is never easy, we can take solace in the fact that Randy’s last moments were playing golf, and enjoying the game to which he gave so much.

He lived his life in service to others. There are not enough words of gratitude to express our thanks for his 40 years of service as a Member of the Northern Ohio PGA.

Our hearts go out to his family and friends.

His professionalism, class and wisdom will be sorely missed. But we are all so much the better for our time spent with Randy, whether in a Rules of Golf discussion, or with a hearty handshake as we approached him at a tournament.

We are deeply grateful for his service to the Section as a Chief Rules Official for seventeen years.

Please keep Randy’s family, friends and the NOPGA Staff in your thoughts and prayers. Randy leaves behind his wife Catherine, his son Matthew, daughter-in-law Amy and two beautiful grandchildren.

You may send your condolences to: Catherine Iceman, 1636 Dexter Rd.NE, Massillon, OH 44646.

Information on the arrangements will be forthcoming from the NOPGA Section Office as it is made available.
