The Lady Longhorns got a huge confidence boost heading into the CVC Tournament on Monday. The ‘Horns knocked off previously unbeaten and defending CVC Champions Independence at Red Tail on Thursday. Senior Sam Webb was medalist with a 3 over 39. Junior Callie Wabeke bounced back after a disappointing round on Tuesday with great round of 45. Sophomore Julia Colton continued her improvement with a solid round of 51. Senior Nadia Kauntz finished up the scoring for the Longhorns with a 57. “I am very proud of the girls for the way they bounced back after a disappointing loss to Chagrin Falls on Tuesday”, stated Coach Dave Ressler. “Our putting was very much improved and we didn’t make the mental mistakes today. Playing at home is always an advantage and the girls really put together a solid game plan for the match tonight. Independence is a great team and are still the favorites to win conference but the girls proved tonight that they are in the hunt as well.” Independence was led by Seniors Allie Ksiazka (45) and Morgan Pascarella (47). Ressler commented, “It is always fun to play with Indpendence, they are well coached and my their girls are very respectful and encouraging to our team.”
